Dubai Creek reaches new heights in course conditioning ahead of DP World Tour return

Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club has reported the best course conditions in its history following an extensive period of investment and innovation, positioning the venue perfectly to welcome the DP World Tour’s Dubai Invitational again in January 2026.

In the past 18 months, the club has undergone a transformation designed to enhance playability, sustainability, and presentation. The work has included the installation of a world-class irrigation system, significant machinery upgrades, and a complete rebuild of its short game area. All of which have contributed to a measurable improvement in turf quality and overall performance.

“The course is in the best condition I've ever seen,” said Harry Wells, Golf Course Superintendent at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club. “We’re weeks ahead of where we’d usually be going into high season, and that’s down to how much more consistent, efficient, and proactive we’ve been able to become.”

The modernised irrigation system has been particularly influential, giving Wells and his team greater precision and flexibility in managing water use across the course. This, combined with renewed focus on detail, has reduced recovery times after maintenance by half, cut water usage, and freed up staff for more creative and presentation-led projects.

“We’ve gone from chasing problems to perfecting details,” Wells explained. “The results speak for themselves - faster recovery, stronger turf health, and surfaces that are tournament-ready well ahead of schedule.”

Supported by ongoing investment in new machinery and facilities, Dubai Creek continues to raise the bar for golf course conditioning and sustainability. The improvements follow on from a highly successful period for the venue, which last year entered the Golf World Top 100 World Golf Resorts and was recognised as the UAE’s number one golf resort.

David Taggart, Club Manager at Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, added: “This period of investment has been about ensuring Dubai Creek remains among the world’s best-presented courses. Our goal is to deliver the ultimate playing experience while managing our resources responsibly - and we’re proud to see those efforts reflected in the condition of the course.”

With preparations already well under way for January’s Dubai Invitational, Dubai Creek’s commitment to the very best playing surfaces and off-course projects continue to reinforce its reputation as one of the region’s most admired golf destinations.
